Anyone wishing to take their child out of school for holidays must complete a ‘Request for Leave of Absence Form’

This form must be completed at least 4 weeks  in advance of the leave.

The Penalty Notice Procedures for unauthorised absence have been implemented across the MAT from September 2017. In accordance with the procedure, our school will now be implementing the procedures for fining where pupils’ attendance register indicates a minimum absence for 10 sessions (5 school days) which are classed as unauthorised during a 6 week period.  This means that any child having 4.5 days will not be fined.  Fines will be issued for 5 days and over.

For further information please refer to the Penalty Notice Procedure document below.

Reporting a Pupil Absence

If a pupil is unable to attend, parents must telephone the school by 9.30 am on the first day of absence and every day of absence following that.

If no contact or message is received from parents  the school will send a text to confirm the absence.

When the child returns to school he/she should bring a note explaining the reason for absence as, by law, the school must account for all absences.

If the child is going to be absent from school for a medical appointment, an appointment card or medical evidence as proof of appointment is required.
