Mini Vinnies

What are the Mini Vinnies and what do they do?

Mini Vinnies are 7 to 11 year-olds based in schools and parishes across England and Wales. They come together to form a part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society England and Wales, a voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms. Mini Vinnies meet to pray and discuss how they can help make a difference in their communities.

At St Joseph’s our Mini Vinnies are a group of children from Years 3-6. We meet regularly to pray, reflect and plan. Our motto is Turning Concern into Action.

We like to plan different events where we can help local and global charities. These include carol singing at a local care home, card making, helping to host a Macmillan coffee morning and supporting CAFOD’s Big Lent Walk.

Why we enjoy being part of the Minnie Vinnie group:

‘It is good to be a Minnie Vinnie because we help people in need, just like God taught us to.'
