Welcome to Year 3

Class Teacher: Mrs McGough

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Kirby

Our teacher is Mrs McGough and our teaching assistant is Mrs Kirby.

In Year 3, we are becoming more independent and aim to be respectful, hardworking and kind individuals. We can apply to be part of our School Council, become a Minnie Vinnie, or a Fairtrade Ambassador.

PE will take place on a Tuesday and a Friday, this means we need to wear our full PE tracksuit. There are lots of sporting events happening throughout the year that Year 3 may be invited to!

Homework consists of spellings, reading and times tables. Spellings are given in spelling books every week and these must be brought back into school daily, ready for their test on Friday. Please can children practise these in their books or on paper. Spellings will also be shared on Seesaw.

Reading is a key part of our learning and it is essential that we read frequently at home and at school. Children are given a free choice reading book from our class’ mini-library.

Every week we celebrate the hard work, determination and positive behaviours displayed by children in the class. These are recognised in our weekly Trust Value certificates and dojo points. We also recognise the effort children put into their handwriting and have a hand writer of the week certificate.

At the end of every term we have an achievement assembly where we hand out certificates for the Shining Light and a Most Improved Hand Writer.

Thank you for visiting our Class Page. We look forward to all of the challenges and fun that Year 3 brings!
