This year is a very exciting, important year for us as we prepare for the next crucial stage in our education – secondary school.
In Year 5, we strive to be respectful, hardworking and determined individuals. With an eagerness to learn, we strive to work as hard as we possibly can and support each other every step of the way. We are keen to develop our increasing independence and responsibility. Not only will we achieve this by being positive role models for other children, we also have additional opportunities for responsibility. We could be a Community Ambassador, Mini Vinnie, Pupil Parliament representative or even a Sports Leader.
PE will take place on a Monday and on a Friday, this means we need to wear our full PE tracksuit. Homework is set each term in Homework Books and can be brought in once completed.
In addition to this, we need to be practising our spellings and times tables at home frequently. The weekly Spelling Test is on a Friday and these spellings can be accessed on our Class Page, in Homework Books and on Spelling Shed.
Positive attitudes, hard work and teamwork are 3 of the many aspects that we are recognised for in our weekly Golden Certificates and within our Dojo Points. This is a chance for us to celebrate each other and our successes. At the end of every term, we will also have a Shining Light and a Most Improved Hand Writer.
Finally, we need to make sure we are reading regularly at home. We could share a story together with an adult or with our siblings. We love to share book recommendations and are always excited to know what stories we are all enjoying.
