Year 6

“Peace is the product of justice and love.”
Feast Day: March 24th
Saint Óscar Romero (1917–1980) was an Archbishop from El Salvador who believed strongly in speaking up for the poor and those who were suffering. At first he was quiet and cautious, but as he saw injustice, violence and hardship around him, he bravely spoke out for peace, fairness and human dignity. He reminded people that the Church should stand with those who are hurting and defend the value of every life. In 1980, Saint Óscar Romero was killed while celebrating Mass because of his commitment to truth and justice. His courage and faith continue to inspire people around the world to stand up for what is right. He is recognised as a martyr for the faith, and his feast day is on 24 March.

Dear Lord Jesus, help me to be brave, to care for others, and to stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult.
Amen.
