Year 4

"Use kind words and gentle actions."
Feast Day: March 20th
Saint Cuthbert (c. 635–687) was a much-loved holy man from Northumbria in the North of England. As a young man, he became a monk and later chose to live as a hermit, spending much of his life in prayer, quiet service and closeness to nature on Holy Island (Lindisfarne). Saint Cuthbert was known for his kindness, humility and care for both people and God’s creation. Even though he loved a simple, peaceful life, he also travelled to preach and encourage others in their faith. He later became Bishop of Lindisfarne and was deeply respected for his holiness. Saint Cuthbert’s life reminds us of the importance of prayer, compassion and looking after the world around us. His feast day is on 20 March.

Dear Lord Jesus, help me to find time to pray, to care for others and to respect Your world, following the example of Saint Cuthbert.
Amen.
