This term, pupils at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Billingham had the incredible opportunity to take part in an engaging programme delivered by the Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation. The initiative focused on how the values of football can inspire positive behaviour, healthy lifestyles, and essential life skills.

Over the course of five interactive workshops, children explored key topics including:

  • Resilience and teamwork
  • Health, fitness, and nutrition
  • Anti-discrimination and inclusion
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Online safety and environmental sustainability

Through fun, sport-based activities, pupils learned how these principles apply both on the pitch and in everyday life, helping them grow into confident, respectful, and responsible individuals.

A special highlight of the programme was when our Sports Leaders were invited to attend a match at the Riverside Stadium—a fantastic experience that celebrated their leadership and commitment. This memorable day reinforced the importance of teamwork and perseverance, values at the heart of both football and our school community.

We are proud of the enthusiasm and maturity shown by all pupils and look forward to continuing this inspiring partnership with the Middlesbrough FC Foundation.
