Our Year 5 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable day of learning during their visit to Beamish, where history was brought vividly to life.

Stepping Back Into the 1940s

While exploring the museum’s incredible settings, pupils took part in an evacuee workshop linked to their World War Two history topic. From stepping into 1940s Britain to learning what evacuation might have felt like, the children gained a deeper understanding through hands‑on experiences.

Memorable Learning Experiences

The immersive nature of Beamish allowed pupils to engage fully with the past, making their learning meaningful, exciting and memorable. Their curiosity, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour were a credit to the school throughout the day.

A Brilliant Day of Discovery

This visit was a fantastic opportunity to deepen historical understanding beyond the classroom.

A brilliant day of learning and discovery — well done everyone!
