Pupils and staff at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham began an exciting new chapter on Monday 5th January, as they moved into their brand new school building. After a long wait, the children were thrilled to arrive in their new learning environment, with excitement filling the school as pupils explored their new classrooms and facilities. The move marks an important milestone for the whole school community.

A Modern Space for Learning and Growth

The new school has been carefully designed to support high-quality teaching and learning, with bright, welcoming spaces that promote wellbeing, creativity and confidence. More than just a building, it is a place where children are encouraged to dream big, aim high and begin their lifelong journey of learning.

An Environmentally Friendly Eco-School

As a proud Eco-School, sustainability is at the heart of the new building. It is energy efficient and features solar panels, allowing the school to produce its own renewable energy and reflect its commitment to caring for the environment and future generations.

At the Heart of the Community

The new school building is a testament to the strength of the local Billingham community and St. Joseph’s ongoing commitment to serving families in the best possible way.

Headteacher Angela Birrell said: “We are absolutely elated to finally be in our new school building after what has felt like a long-awaited journey. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Bowmer + Kirkland for their outstanding work, as well as to Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust and the Department for Education for their invaluable support throughout this project. The children have settled into their new school tremendously, and we are incredibly excited to see what the future holds for St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.”
