Our Year 4 pupils at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham had a brilliant day completing Star 1 of the National Navigation Qualification with the support of the fantastic team at the West View Project.
Learning Key Navigation Skills
The children learned how to:
- Use a compass
- Follow accurate directions
- Read and interpret maps
These skills helped them gain confidence in outdoor learning and strengthened their understanding of practical geography.
Excellent Behaviour and Teamwork
Throughout the day, Year 4 demonstrated impeccable behaviour, strong teamwork, and a real enthusiasm for learning new skills. Their determination and positive attitude were outstanding.
