
Year 5 pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham recently attended a STEM Festival at St Cuthbert’s Church, celebrating 100 years since the opening of ICI.
Celebrating Billingham’s Industrial Heritage
The festival explored Billingham’s rich industrial history alongside the engineering and innovation shaping the future. Pupils were able to learn more about the local area while seeing how STEM plays a role in modern industries.
Hands-On STEM Learning
Children took part in a variety of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) activities, all linked to opportunities in Teesside.
From interactive challenges to engaging demonstrations, pupils approached each activity with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Developing Skills for the Future
Throughout the event, pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills, working together to complete tasks and think creatively.
The festival offered a valuable opportunity to see real-world applications of STEM subjects, helping to bring classroom learning to life.
